Greater Rural Opportunities for Women (GROW 2 Project)

MEDA in partnership with TUDRIDEP is implementing the GROW2 project in 7 districts of the Upper West Region. This project will take place over the course of five years and will end in September 2026. The goal of GROW2 is to improve the economic and social empowerment of smallholder women farmers, entrepreneurs, and agribusinesses in Northern Ghana.  MEDA is working with 4 Key Facilitating Partners of which TUDRIDEP is one of them.

The project is building upon the success of the GROW project, GROW2 will expand/ women’s access to green technologies, affordable inputs, market, financial and technical services to reach a total of 40,000 smallholder women farmers, 5,000 entrepreneurs, and 50 agribusinesses (at least 50% women-led) in the soybean, groundnut, and vegetable value chains in 3 regions of the north (Northern, Upper West and Savanna Regions). GROW2 will continue to advance good agricultural and nutritional practices to ensure year-round food security and includes community-based engagement on critical issues for women’s economic empowerment.

Strengthening Rural Youth Livelihood for a Sustainable Economic (SUSTAIN) Project:

TUDRIDEP in partnership with KGL Foundation is implanting the SUSTAIN project in the Sissala East and Sissala West districts of the Upper West Region. The project will strengthen the capacity of 50 out of school youth through Agribusiness Development, animal husbandry and production for livelihood advancement. The beneficiaries will be supported with be supported with trainings and start-up capital in the form of poultry birds and rabbits.

The beneficiaries will be linked to the Ghana Enterprises Agency and the Veterinary Service Department of Agriculture for training and technical support as well as taking advantage to benefit from other government interventions implemented by these agencies.
