The Organisation
Tumu Deanery Rural Integrated Development Programme (TUDRIDEP) is a registered NGO in Ghana working in deprived and marginalized communities towards empowering rural resource poor people.
The organization has been in existence since 1975, TUDRIDEP has a mission of empowering rural resource poor people to claim their rightful place in the socio-economic and political environment that they find themselves, tailored towards a vision of an egalitarian and self-reliant society. With a 7-member Board of Trustees in place, the organization has a total staff of 16 operating currently in 7 districts of Lawra, Nandom, Lambussie, Daffiama-Busie-Issa, Sissala East, Sissala West and Wa East districts of the Upper West Region.
The organization implements projects in the area of Advocacy, Financial Linkages, Agri-business and Enterprise Development, Agricultural Value Chain Facilitation, Environmental Conservation and Climate Change, Water and Sanitation, Gender Analysis, Farmer Based Organization/Cooperative Development, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Nutrition, Food Security and Livelihood Development.
Mission
TUDRIDEP’s mission is to empower rural resource poor people to claim their rightful place in the socio-economic and political environment they find themselves and to develop skills and attitude that lead to economic, social and cultural development as a way towards greater human dignity.
Vision
The vision of TUDRIDEP is an egalitarian, conscious and self-reliant society with sustainable sources of livelihood.
Objectives
The strategic objectives of the organization are:
- Assist rural people to be food secured by taking advantage of viable aspects of the agricultural value chain;
- Facilitate the access to finance to help develop agri-business and enterprises;
- Raise environmental consciousness of society for a healthy earth for posterity
- Built the capacity of the youth to engaged in viable enterprises and livelihoods;
- Raise the consciousness of rural people about sexual and preventive health towards healthy behavioral change
